Seeing this as an opportunity to use the money promised to her to save her grandmothers life, she agreed to the mission. However she was betrayed by the others and was sent to Gilgamesh Prison for her crimes. She was approached by Cassandra Locke who offered her a release from Gilgamesh if she chose to join Troika, revealing her to be one of The Chosen.

Emilio Araujo was a simple man living in Rio de Janerio who was married to his wife, Lucy. Though they didn't have much he lived a happy life with her. Lucy's brother Carlos, a chemical engineer, offered Emilio a job at the nuclear power plant to make a better life for him and Lucy. While experimenting on a prototype reactor, Emilio was caught at the cores epicenter, sealing the doors so none of the radiation could escape and cause a meltdown. Though he succumbed to the radiation, he was saved by Cassandra Locke, who forseen him being one of the Chosen to fight against the Horsemen. Outfitted into a graphite exo-suit powered by his radioactive body, Tank uses his powers to defend humanity against the threat of the Horsemen.
